The Coastal Interpretive Center will be offering a 6-week plant identification class beginning on Wednesday March 6.  The two-hour class will be held at the Ocean Shores Library conference room from 6:00-8:00 pm and run for six consecutive Wednesday’s to April 10.

Participants will learn key terms and characteristics of native plants that occur along the coast and in our forests of Western Washington, along with information about edible and poisonous plants, noxious weeds and native plant landscaping. An optional field trip will take place following the last class to apply the skills learned in the class.

The class will be taught by CIC board member Bruce Rittenhouse, who has degrees in Botany and Plant Ecology.

Cost of the class is $50 and is limited to 25 participants. The $50 fee covers all six classes, and all proceeds go to support the Coastal Interpretive Center.
