Our updated children’s exhibit is a fun, physical learning environment for viewers and participants ages 2-10 years (and for any kids at heart!). The exhibit covers habitats and local wildlife from the mountains to the ocean’s depths. There is a mountain to explore, a cave with a surprise, a bog with stepping logs, and a kelp bed to gently walk through as not to disturb the inhabitants.
There is also a laboratory space outfitted with tools enough to please the most serious budding scientist. Here visitors can examine feathers, bones, rocks, shells, and other little natural wonders while surrounded by images of working scientists—or perhaps their future colleagues.
Finally, we invite you to feel our array of furs and learn about their importance in the local fur trade.
